MakerKids are the first and largest makerspace for kids in the world, and they run programs, camps and parties on topics like Minecraft, 3D Printing, Videogame Programming with Scratch, Robotics Inventions using Arduino, Electronics and Remote Control Robotics.

STEAMLabs is an entry point for both kids and adults looking to get started in digital fabrication, coding, hands-on making and electronics. It’s also a space for seasoned makers, entrepreneurs and artists looking to work with serious tools needed to get things done. We will have the equipment you need for 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC milling, woodworking, electronics, sewing, crafts and more.

HackLab.TO is a community space with a diverse membership, including artists, computer programmers, web designers, and hardware hackers. It is inspired by the philosophies of the global hackerspaces movement which encourages people to socialize, share knowledge, and work together on their projects. Newcomers are welcome every Tuesday night. We make things, repurpose things, program things, invent things, and make lights blink!

A tool lending library is the same as a book library – but for tools! It’s that simple. The Toronto Tool Library has 4 locations in the city and loans over 5,000 hand, power and gardening tools. Rather than buying, storing and ultimately disposing of tools yourself, the Tool Library enables Torontonians to access rather than own, saving money and storage space in the process. Tools can be borrowed for up to a week and memberships start at just $50/year.

Maker Festival Toronto

A yearly  celebration of the city's most creative people and their projects, who gather together at the Toronto Reference Library to show off what they've been working on.

At the Icewire Makerspace, you’ll find electronics (hardware and software), robotics, and 3D printing, with a focus on education.

What you make is only limited by knowledge, resources, and creativity! A relitively new makerspace, Icewire will be offering classes and workshops all year round on all sorts of subjects (no membership required). Whether you’re new to a topic or you’ve worked with it before, you’ll be learning among friends.  Desk space and chairs, soldering irons, resistors and capacitors in little drawers, plenty of wires, Lego robotics, 3D printers, desktop computers, we’ve got it all.  All you need to bring is your thinking cap, and perhaps a laptop.

Makerspace Canada is passionate about play and believe it’s the wellspring of innovation and creativity for young and old. They also think kids should grow up understanding how the world works and today that means having a fundamental knowledge of how technology functions in everyday life. The kits, games, and toys you’ll find at Makerspace Canada are all STEAM/STEM focused with high open-ended, play value.

Protolab is open for ANYONE to join, from the novice DIY'er to Pro Makers, Artists and Designers alike, we also offer training and regular workshops that cover how to use all of our tools and machines.
