Mental Health

Doctoral advisors aren’t trained to be therapists, but they really should be. The process of writing a dissertation and completing a PhD program takes a toll on many graduate students’ mental health. I have developed several ways to help support you through this tumultuous time based on my own experiences, my education, and the experiences of other graduates.

Stress Management

As your personal academic coach, I’ll provide stress management techniques and help you navigate the numerous psychological barriers—impostor syndrome, perfectionism, writer’s block, negative thinking, procrastination, fear of rejection— that impede your progress towards earning a PhD.
